Membership in the Virginia Homicide Investigators Association shall be limited to the following:
"Active Members": Any person who is a member (sworn or civilian) of an organized Town, Municipal, County, State, Federal or National law enforcement agency. Membership includes but is not limited to uniformed officers/supervisors, criminal investigators/supervisors, internal affairs investigators/supervisors, crime analyst, crime scene investigator, Sheriff’s and Chiefs of Police. Retired law enforcement officers are also eligible for membership.
"Associate Members": Any person not eligible for active membership but qualified by training and experience in police or other law enforcement related activities, or by other professional attainments in forensic science or administration as well, shall be upon approval of the Board of Directors, eligible for membership as an "Associate" member. Associate members do not have to be sworn law enforcement personnel and includes forensic scientists, Medical Examiners, Medico-legal investigators and persons employed by agencies such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NECMEC), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and similar organizations. Membership Benefits Include:
Annual Dues for Membership: Annual dues for all classes of membership except lifetime are $25 per year. Annual Dues are renewed in the month of January each year and are valid through December 31st of each calendar year.
Lifetime Membership: Lifetime Memberships are $200. Pay once and your done.
